Additional Notes: Leather face inserts used after gutta percha balls were invented in 1880s. Insert fits well and wear on leather matches wear on clubhead. Leather appears to be contemporary to manufacture of club. So club probably dates from 1880. Leather grip is coated so also probably dates past 1880.
